Programming exploits
Nice place guys. I'm just starting to learn and I've a kinda half dumbass question.

I've been learning about forum exploits after having my own hacked a bunch of times. A lot of the exploits written are in Perl. Is there a reason for this? I mean why not Java or C++? Or VB? Is Perl the standard for writing exploits?

And in a wider context outside forum exploits, what programming language should I concentrate on? Perl? or something like C/C++? I haven't really seen much work in JAVA at all.

RE: Programming exploits
Most are written in C because its what programmers are used too. Perl is a great language for the web based one's dealing with cookies etc. C++ is widespread too.

Java, not so sure of.

If you going to learn programming go with Java / C++ and say PHP. That way you have a broad range of understanding of web language, core computer language. Bash Scripting if your learning hacking is also a must know!
